Any ECM project must be envisaged beyond just the technological point of view because its scope of action encompasses activities, people, information and operational processes. That is why ECM can be considered the backbone of the company’s information capital: it combines all the technologies, tools and methods used to acquire, process, manage, store and protect contents and make them available to all the company’s players.
From that point on, the greatest care must be taken in defining the initial perimeter and the implementation approach, so that in the end structured and no-structured information no longer form two separate areas but a single unit in the information system.
